World Services for the Blind Foundation Honors Charles Morgan

The World Services for the Blind Foundation has selected Charles Morgan to receive its Vision Award to honor his commitment to community service.

The 15th annual Vision Award will be presented at a luncheon from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the downtown Little Rock DoubleTree Hotel.

The Vision Award was created to recognize and honor the achievements of an Arkansan who has demonstrated far-reaching vision in orchestrating events through business enterprise and community involvement that better our society for all citizens, both sighted and visually impaired.

Morgan, a former CEO of Acxiom Corp. of Little Rock, is the CEO of First Orion Corp., a private company that developed and markets PrivacyStar, an application that helps protect the mobile phone users’ privacy. He is on the board of Inuvo Inc., a publicly traded online advertising company. He is a member and past chairman of the board of trustees of Hendrix College. Morgan is also chairman of the board of Querencia, a private golf development and golf course in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Morgan has served on the board and in various leadership roles with the Direct Marketing Association (DMA), serving in 2001 as chairman of the DMA board. He worked for IBM as a systems engineer for six years before joining Acxiom, and he holds a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Arkansas.
